How to swap Household Duties with Painting
"I want to paint, but I don't have time for it!" I believe this is one of the main reasons people don't start to paint. And it totally makes sense - our everyday lives are so full, the struggle is real!
Some say, "You just need to make it a priority and take the time." It's a good start and part of the solution, but time doesn't just appear one day. We need a more practical approach to make this work.
My solution builds on one simple idea: If you can reorganize some everyday tasks so they are done faster, you will gain time slots. And these new time slots are dedicated to painting!
Imagine you were to change one or two household duties in a way that saves you 30 minutes per week. These 30 minutes are your new painting time, which you can take every week.
How to create time slots
I've done this in the past with cooking. For me, it's very important to cook at home with fresh ingredients. But it also takes a lot of time.
Then, two years ago, I took a meal prep class and reorganized the whole process. Now I precook meals for some days and save a lot of time - it's way more than 30 minutes per week.
But if you only do this once a week and cook for two days, you can easily save 30 minutes per week.
Meal-prep can be one solution to create time slots for painting
Meal prep is just one idea. Maybe you get better cleaning supplies that will save you time, or it's more about reorganizing other tasks, which take up more time than necessary. It's really about the idea to make room (time) before you add more to your plate.
This way, it won't feel overwhelming to start painting as a new hobby. And when you deliberately reorganize some household duties or other tasks to gain a specific amount of free time, you will know what this free time is meant for.
Just make sure that you really take this time for painting. Too often, other tasks just pop up if we have a little more free time. If you manage to change something in your everyday life, you deserve to use this time for what you love!
Make sure to use your newly gained time slots for painting.
I hope you will find a good solution that fits into your life and will help you to swap household duties with painting!
